Charmed and Strange Quarks in Hadronic Reactions
(OSCAR)

Scientific Programme:
Experiments NA48 and OKAPI at CERN is purposed to obtain the most precise data on the CP-violation processor and rare kaon decays. The experiment is continued for a high sensitivity study of K_s and neutral hyperon decays using a modified K_s beam, and precision measurement of charged kaon decay parameters with the upgraded NA48 setup and new K12 beam line.

Expected main results in 2008:

New experimental data will be processed and analysed.
New results on kaon and hyperon rare decays will be obtained, on the base of data accunulated in 1999-2004 and 2007 runs.
New programmes for simulation and data analyses will be constructed.
A test run at the CERN SPS will be carried out.
Preparation of new proposal to study kaon rare decays at CERN SPS and carrying out of works to construct a straw-tube detector prototype for this experiment.
